Sleep Coaching for Anxious Minds

If your mind won’t switch off at night, you’re not imagining it. And you’re not “failing” at sleep.

I came to this position through my own experience of anxiety and chronic stress. I know what it’s like to live in a body that stays on high alert, even when you’re exhausted. After years in a corporate IT career, I retrained so I could work directly with people caught in similar patterns, particularly where anxiety and sleep problems overlap.

Today, I’m a fully qualified and insured Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist, trained in CBT-I under Dr. Jason Ellis, one of the world’s leading sleep researchers, and certified in ACT by Dr. Steven Hayes, the originator of the model.

Many of the people I work with arrive feeling confused and frustrated. They’re exhausted, yet alert.Tired but wide awake. They’ve tried advice, routines, apps, and often medication, without understanding why sleep still feels so far out of reach.

My work focuses on helping people reset sleep without starting from scratch. That means slowing things down, reducing fear and racing thoughts when going to bed, and working with the nervous system rather than pushing against it.

How I Work

I specialise in supporting adults experiencing sleep difficulties linked to mental overactivity.

My approach combines CBT-I, Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy, and ACT-I techniques. Each of these tools plays an important role on its own, but together, they form the “Swiss army knife” for rebuilding healthy sleep.

Here’s what you can expect:

This is not about forcing sleep, strict rules, or perfect routines. We’ll move at a pace your system can tolerate, because progress happens more easily when you feel safe.

Why Safety Comes First

Imagine trying to fall asleep while a bear stands at the foot of your bed. Your body wouldn’t relax. It wouldn’t drift. It would stay alert, even if you felt exhausted. For many people with insomnia, sleep itself has become the bear. Not because sleep is dangerous, but because the nervous system has learned to treat the night as a threat. It’s ironic, given that sleep is the one thing you want most. But your brain won’t allow it. In its own way, it’s trying to protect you. And yes, it’s a strange paradox.

That’s why, before anything else, we focus on helping your body feel safer again. When that sense of danger eases, the system no longer needs to stay on guard. And when that happens, sleep has room to return.

Why Safety Comes First

Why I Do What I Do

Sleep affects every part of life. When it’s missing, everything feels harder. Over time, I’ve seen how quickly insomnia can turn into a cycle of worry, monitoring, and self-doubt. I’ve also seen how much relief comes when people understand what’s been keeping sleep stuck and realise they’re not broken.

I do this because I believe sleep should not feel like a battle. With the right support, most people CAN find their way back to rest without forcing outcomes.
